21 Jan 2007 - Under 8s Vs Cheltenham and Cleeve

3 Matches were played on the day.

 

2 against Cheltenham and 1 against Cleeve,

 

The first match was won by Berry Hill 5 tries to 4. It was a hard fought close match and the result could have gone either way. Bu the defensive line of Berry Hill secured the win following several turn-overs close to the Berry Hill Line. Tries scored by Kieran, James and Luke helped secure the victory.

The second game looked on paper a bit of a whitewash in favour of Cheltenham with the score being 11 tries to 2, however the Berry Hill team was made up mainly of our under 7s and Cheltenham had put out their strongest team. This aside Berry Hill played well and were not out gunned, a few dropped balls gave the early lead to Cheltenham who were able to capatilise on the errors. The try scorers for Berry Hill were Mathew and Connor.

 

The 3rd game played was against Cleeve and although Berry Hill lost out by 4 tries to 5 the game could have gone either way, (one Berry Hill try was dis-allowed as the ball was dropped over the line and went forward). There was some excellent attacking running by both teams and at half time it was one try a piece. The second half stepped up a gear and tries were scored by both teams. Tries for Berry Hill were scored by Kieran and James who bagged two each.
