1 Jan 2007 - Berry Hill Junior Section Gloucester Trip

The day started  meeting at Berry Hill for 10.30am with the 2 buses awaiting departure.

After checking that more or less everyone had arrived the convoy departed at about 10.45am, arriving at Kingsholm at about 11.30am.

Everyone duly dis-embarked and were allocated their tickets and an outline of the day was given by representatives of Gloucester RFC.

Unfortunately due to the condition of the pitch we were told that we would not be able to go on to it at half - time.

However, the first item on the agenda was the tour of the ground with the group split in to 3, history and background was presented and to a lucky few a quick visit to the changing rooms.

(One of the tour groups being told about the Buildbase Stand)

Once everyone had met back up in the car park, it was a short trip to Archdeacon Meadow (Gloucester's training ground) where the players were split in to 3 age groups and had a 45 minute coaching session delivered by some of the Gloucester RFC coaches and trainers.

There was then the opportunity to get some signatures !!

Then back on to the bus - by this time one of them had decided to breakdown - thankfully it was a short if somewhat cosy journey.

Once back at Kingsholm it was time for the main event, seats were found in the Buildbase Stand, as well as a much needed burger, pasty or hot-dog.

The players having been given t-shirts, were then asked to form the guard of honor to welcome the players on the pitch.

Having returned to the seats, it was now time to watch the main event and typically the heavens opened and rain blew down upon us all. However it was a hard fought match with Gloucester eventually running out victors 12-3.
